Dr. Seung-Il Lee is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Natural Resources Management, Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. He received a MSc degree in insect taxonomy at Chungnam National University in South Korea, and received a PhD degree in Forest Biology and Management at University of Alberta in 2016, studying saproxylic beetle responses at the Ecosystem Management Emulating Natural Disturbances (EMEND) experimental site. During his post-graduate experience as a Research Scientist at the Canadian Forest Service and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta between 2016 and 2021, he has been involved in several research projects, such as the assessment of insect pests and diseases in hybrid willow clones for bioenergy production, and recovery of biodiversity in variable retention harvest.
Currently, his research mainly focuses on overall biodiversity responses to intensified forest management and climate change. More specifically, Dr. Lee is interested in studying how ground-dwelling and saproxylic arthropods respond after natural and anthropogenic disturbances, such as intensified biomass harvest, commercial thinning, and variable retention harvest. Dr. Lee also teaches Forest Entomology, Population Ecology, and Experimental Statistics at Lakehead University.
硕士:Chungnam National University(韩国)
